Hello! 

 

My name is Kelly Wilbert and this is my tenth year of teaching Elementary Physical Education/Wellness.   I am originally from Upstate New York.  Upon completing graduate school, I headed to California where I served with AmeriCorps and then taught PE for a year.  In 2008, I decided to move to Colorado to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, sun, and people that it has here!  After teaching in Douglas County for eight years, I made the move to Charles Hay in 2016 and could not be happier!

Growing up, I was exposed to volunteering, sports, and travel.  The values of community, empathy, and collaboration are consistently integrated throughout our individual and team-oriented physical activity units.  This year we will be focusing on the IB Theme "How We Express Ourselves".  Exploration around how values are expressed will be facilitated through use of the Wellness Dimension concept (Social, Emotional, Physical, Intellectual, and Spiritual - actions and values lining up).

 

In my free time I enjoy hiking, road biking, growth coaching, volunteering with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, pot-lucking, learning new things, and pretending I know how to fix things around my new house :)
