Hello,

I am grateful to be able to continue sharing my enthusiasm for art with you through the eLearning Academy this year! I have had the privilege of teaching Art in Englewood Schools for the past 20 years. Englewood is a special place where art has played an important role in the schools and our student's education. I started teaching at Maddox Elementary then moved to Bishop and Cherrelyn Elementaries. For the past 5 years, I have been at Charles Hay World School. I am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces from all of these places.

When I am not teaching art, I am making art. I have an art studio at home and I also belong to a group of artists who have a studio in Southglenn. My husband and I are currently completing construction on a pottery studio on the side of our home. I believe that will be where I will be meeting with you virtually very soon!

Mr. Dulaney is an architect and he created a very nice design for this project. We have 2 daughters who are grown. Rio is a landscape architect and Aly is a special education teacher. I love to be in the garden with my 6 chickens and the bees. I enjoy cooking, knitting, yoga, and hiking too.

 

This year, the theme for elementary art will be Sincerely. Kindness. We will be looking at how artists convey positive emotions through their art. I have been working on finding you all some art supplies and sketchbooks so be looking for further information about that.  It's going to be challenging, but with challenge comes creativity. I can't wait to get started making art with you!
